Carrier has announced a collaboration with the Arbor Day Foundation committing to plant 5 million trees by 2030 under the initiative “For the Air We Breathe, For the World We Share.”
Under this collaboration, Carrier will plant 1 million trees annually for five years, helping to improve air quality, generate oxygen, filter water and contribute positively to the restoration of our planet’s most vulnerable ecosystems. Carrier will directly involve customers and employees by inviting them to help select one of the first planting locations, which will be announced later this year.
“With more than 120 years of rich history, Carrier’s purpose has always run deep in our culture,” said David Gitlin, Chairman and CEO, Carrier. “Planting 5 million trees isn’t just symbolic-it reflects our responsibility and direct action to help build a cooler, healthier and more sustainable world today and for generations to come.”
“We’re thrilled to work with an organization that has been dedicated to the sustainability and energy efficiency of our communities, as well as the preservation of our most vital ecosystem,” said Dan Lambe, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation. “This partnership further demonstrates Carrier’s commitment to environmental stewardship, providing a momentous boost to our global tree planting efforts in forests and communities of great need.”
