Samsung Electronics has released 2025 Sustainability Report

Samsung Electronics has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, giving an update on its progress and actions in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas. The report shows how the company is working to grow responsibly while responding to global challenges and industry changes.

As part of its environmental goals, Samsung continues to follow its 2022 Environmental Strategy, focusing on reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2), using more renewable energy, and making better use of materials through technology and innovation.

The Device eXperience (DX) Division achieved a 93.4% renewable energy use rate by the end of 2024. It also reduced the average power use of its products by 31.5% compared to 2019 by using high-efficiency technologies. Samsung also signed new solar power purchase agreements at its Gumi and Gwangju sites in South Korea to further expand its renewable energy supply.

To reduce plastic waste, Samsung has started including recycled materials in its products. As of 2024, 31% of plastic parts in Samsung products were made using recycled content. The company has also set a long-term goal to use recycled plastic in all plastic parts by 2050. In addition, Samsung runs e-waste collection programs in about 80 countries to improve recycling and reduce environmental impact.

The Device Solutions (DS) Division is also working toward net zero emissions by 2050. This includes investing in large-scale gas treatment systems and using more renewable energy. All DS Division sites around the world received the highest level “Zero Waste-to-Landfill” certification from UL Solutions. In South Korea, all Samsung manufacturing sites earned top certification for responsible water use from the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS).y supply.
