As electric vehicle (EV) adoption grows in India, the Tooling business of Godrej Enterprises Group is becoming an important part of the supply chain. With more EVs on the road, there’s a need for new engines, battery boxes and high-precision metal parts. To support this shift, the business has upgraded its tools and machines to handle the specific needs of EV production, especially in making high-precision dies and parts.

Expecting a rise in demand, the company invested around 2–3% of its revenue in research and modern machinery. This helps them stay prepared for changes in the industry and make production more efficient. The company is also looking at making some tools in India that are currently made abroad. This could help reduce imports, increase exports and open new markets. The goal is to combine local manufacturing with global reach, helping India become a strong player in EV tooling.

Pankaj Abhyankar, Business Head, Tooling business of Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “As EV manufacturers scale up production to meet growing consumer demand, they require tooling partners who understand both the technical complexities and the commercial imperatives of this rapidly evolving sector. India’s EV transition is not just about vehicles, it’s about building a resilient, self-reliant, and globally competitive ecosystem. At Godrej Enterprises Group, we are proud to be enabling this transformation through our precision engineering solutions. These world-class tooling systems help reduce dependence on imports while improving lead times, cost efficiency, and product reliability.”
