Nokia has made three of its network APIs available on the Google Cloud Marketplace. These include Quality of Service on Demand, Number Verification, and Device Location Verification. This step allows developers to more easily access and use Nokia’s tools while building apps.
With these APIs now on Google Cloud, developers can connect to multiple mobile networks without dealing with complex backend technologies. This is made possible by Nokia’s Network as Code platform, which offers a simpler and more standard way for developers to use network functions. More APIs from Nokia are expected to be added later.
These APIs follow global standards like GSMA Open Gateway and CAMARA, meaning they can support apps that work across different countries and networks. Nokia is also working with various network providers to expand this reach.
Each API serves a specific purpose. The Quality of Service on Demand API helps ensure strong and reliable network performance when needed, such as during a crowded live event. The Number Verification API helps confirm if a phone number truly belongs to the user, useful for preventing fraud. The Device Location Verification API adds another layer of security by checking if a device and transaction location match during sensitive activities.
