LG has started the global release of the StanbyME 2, a new version of its lifestyle screen that can now be fully detached from its stand. This makes it easier to move around and use in different settings like the living room, outdoors or even mounted on a wall. The screen can be placed in both portrait and landscape positions and used as a clock or display piece when not playing content.
It includes a built-in battery that lasts up to four hours, allowing it to run without being plugged in. Users can recharge it using the docking stand or a USB-C cable. Voice control is also available, making it easy to operate without a remote.
StanbyME 2 runs on LG’s webOS TV platform, giving users access to streaming apps and LG Channels. It also works with Apple AirPlay, Google Cast and smart home systems like LG ThinQ and Google Home. Some fun features like a sketch app and visual mood settings are also included.
The screen is 27 inches with a QHD resolution and comes with speakers that adjust sound depending on how the screen is placed. It also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for clearer picture and sound. The rollout will begin in Hong Kong and Türkiye, with more countries to follow.
