Instagram has announced a set of updates designed to help creators reach wider audiences while maintaining their individual voice and style. In the coming months, Meta AI will offer reel translations in five additional Indian languages: Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. This expands on existing dubbing and lip-sync features available in English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese. Creators can translate their reels while keeping their natural voice tone, and can enable lip syncing to match the translated audio with their mouth movements.
The platform is also adding new Indian font options within its editing tools. Text can now be styled using Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese scripts, supporting languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese. Devices already set to these scripts will display the fonts by default, while others can filter fonts through the “all fonts” tab in the editor.
These updates follow recent enhancements aimed at improving editing and creative tools on Instagram. New features include options to restyle photos and videos in Stories using Meta AI, edit visuals more precisely, bulk edit captions, reverse video clips, use lip-sync animations on photos, and access a wider range of sound effects. Together, the updates offer more ways for creators to adapt content across languages and formats.
