Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. has secured long term financing from a consortium of Japanese banks for a 6,000 MW high voltage direct current transmission corridor connecting Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
The 950 km ±800 kV HVDC link will connect Bhadla in Rajasthan to Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. It will evacuate renewable energy from solar rich regions into India’s national grid and is expected to be commissioned by 2029. The corridor can transmit enough clean power to serve around 60 million households.
Financing is being led by MUFG Bank Ltd. and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. The project will deploy HVDC technology from Hitachi Energy Ltd. in collaboration with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited.
The corridor supports renewable integration from Rajasthan and strengthens supply to industrial and urban centers. It also reflects growing India Japan cooperation in clean energy infrastructure.
