Bosch has launched two new radar system-on-chip (SoC) models, the SX600 and SX601, aimed at supporting advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) used in modern vehicles. These chips help detect objects on the road more accurately, making features like emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot detection more reliable.

The new SoCs bring multiple functions together on a single chip, which helps reduce cost and space. Bosch has designed them using 22nm RF CMOS technology, which improves computing power while allowing longer detection ranges and better performance. The chips can also process information using AI to distinguish between objects like vehicles and pedestrians.

Bosch says these SoCs are more precise than older models, with better sensitivity to small or far-away objects. The SX600 focuses on cost efficiency, while the SX601 offers more memory and computing power. Both can connect to vehicle systems using CAN XL and Ethernet and come with built-in security features to prevent data breaches.

These SoCs work in the 77 GHz frequency band and are designed to be easily upgraded. Bosch is already offering samples of the SX601 to customers for development and testing. The chips are part of Bosch’s ongoing efforts to improve safety and convenience in vehicles through advanced radar technology.
