Bosch has completed its biggest acquisition so far, taking over Johnson Controls’ residential and light commercial HVAC business and the Johnson Controls-Hitachi joint venture. This move nearly doubles the size of its Home Comfort division, which now includes over 25,000 employees and generates more than €8 billion in sales. The goal is to grow faster than the global HVAC market, which Bosch expects to rise by 5% annually through 2030.
The company now operates 33 production sites and 26 development centers, with a stronger presence in America and Asia. Bosch’s expanded product line now includes both ducted and ductless air conditioning systems, hybrid heating solutions, and more. Brands like York and Hitachi are now part of Bosch’s portfolio through long-term licenses.
As demand for cooling grows worldwide, especially due to rising temperatures, Bosch aims to offer energy-efficient solutions. The integration of the new business units will continue through 2027. Home Comfort’s operations will be organized regionally across the Americas, Asia, and Europe/Middle East/Africa.
The acquisition supports Bosch’s 2030 strategy by strengthening its energy and building technologies business, expanding its global reach, and aligning its offerings with regional market needs.
