A Bosch development team Christoffer Uhr, Kai Weeber, and Pierre Andrieu has been nominated for the German Future Prize 2025 for their Fuel Cell Power Module (FCPM). The system converts hydrogen and oxygen into electricity, enabling long-haul trucks to operate CO₂-free while offering the same refueling time, range, and robustness as diesel trucks.

Weighing around 500 kg and comprising over 1,000 components, the FCPM is the most complex system Bosch has developed in nearly 140 years. It is designed for seamless integration into trucks, supports ranges of up to 1,000 km, and operates quietly with minimal vibration. Bosch manufactures all key components, including the fuel cell stack in-house.

Several thousand FCPM-powered trucks are already in use globally, with expansion dependent on hydrogen infrastructure development. The German Future Prize will be awarded on November 19, 2025, in Berlin.
