Daikin Australia has opened a new $28.6 million manufacturing facility in Chipping Norton, NSW, continuing its focus on local production and workforce expansion. The new factory increases the company’s capacity to produce customised Air Handling Units and Rooftop Packaged Air Conditioners as part of a broader strategy to design and manufacture products suited to local market needs. It also creates more than 60 new jobs across production, R&D, and support roles.

The facility incorporates autonomous mobile robots, expanded solar generation, and digitalised processes aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact. This aligns with Daikin’s plan to work toward carbon-neutral manufacturing by 2030. Construction began in early 2024 and finished in August 2025, supported by an Investment NSW grant recognising Daikin’s contribution to skilled manufacturing roles in Western Sydney.

Daikin has also increased its Australian Made-certified product range and expanded local PCB manufacturing. The new factory strengthens its network of more than 20 local suppliers and supports shorter service and spare-part timelines. Company leaders stated that the new facility provides additional room for product development, increased manufacturing capability, and long-term growth. The official launch event was attended by Daikin’s global leadership, NSW representatives, and industry partners.
