Daikin Industries has been named to the A List by CDP, a global non-profit that evaluates companies on their environmental transparency and climate actions. The recognition highlights Daikin’s efforts in addressing climate change through detailed reporting and concrete initiatives. CDP assesses thousands of companies each year based on criteria such as emissions reduction, water use and forest protection. In 2024, over 24,800 companies took part in the survey, including a significant number from Japan.

As a major player in the HVAC&R sector, Daikin faces challenges related to rising energy use from air conditioning systems. To tackle this while supporting business growth, the company introduced its Environmental Vision 2050, which aims to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. This vision is reflected in Daikin’s strategic plan, Fusion 25, which runs through fiscal 2025.

The plan includes reducing emissions during manufacturing, creating energy-efficient products and establishing systems for recovering and reusing refrigerants. Daikin’s approach covers its entire value chain and focuses on balancing comfort with environmental responsibility.
