Daikin Industries, Ltd. will participate in the TICAD Business Expo & Conference from August 20 to 22, 2025 in Yokohama, Japan. At the event, Daikin will highlight its high-efficiency inverter air conditioners and training programs aimed at supporting sustainable growth in Africa’s cooling sector.

Africa’s rising temperatures and varied climates have made reliable cooling increasingly important. Expanding air conditioner use comes with challenges, including limited power grid capacity and environmental concerns linked to energy demand. Daikin’s inverter technology addresses these issues by adjusting compressor speed, helping reduce power usage by around 50% compared to non-inverter systems.

To support broader adoption, Daikin is working with Nigerian institutions to test energy-saving results and support local efficiency standards. In addition to technology, Daikin is also focused on skills development. The company partners with vocational schools in Africa to train technicians in installation and maintenance, ensuring long-term support for the growing industry.

At the event, Daikin will showcase its inverter models, present its Africa-focused initiatives, and offer a hands-on workshop in copper-pipe flaring a key skill in air conditioner installation and repair. The goal is to demonstrate both the technical and human resource support needed for sustainable cooling solutions in the region.
