Dell and NVIDIA have introduced new compute and networking solutions at SC25 to support growing AI and high-performance computing needs. Dell’s new PowerEdge XE8712 is designed for dense rack-scale HPC setups and uses the NVIDIA GB200 NVL4 platform. It supports up to 36 nodes in a single rack and is built to handle demanding simulation and training workloads in limited space. The system is factory tested and configured for easier deployment and simpler maintenance through rack-level service features.

The XE8712 also uses Dell PowerCool liquid cooling, including a new rack-mount Coolant Distribution Unit that provides up to 160 kW of cooling capacity. Integrated leak detection and rack-level monitoring help maintain stable temperatures and reduce downtime. By managing heat more effectively, the setup can also lower overall energy use.

Dell has expanded its support for unified networking through Enterprise SONiC, which now works with NVIDIA Spectrum X Ethernet platforms. This combination offers lossless networking, dynamic load balancing and control features needed for distributed AI training. The setup is designed to keep GPUs active without delays caused by network bottlenecks.
