When the University of Texas joined the SEC in 2024, the athletics program needed a production system capable of meeting increased broadcast expectations. This led to the creation of Texas Studios Powered by Dell Technologies, an in-house facility built to deliver fast, reliable and scalable sports coverage. Previously dependent on third-party vendors, Texas Athletics brought production on campus to gain more control, improve turnaround times and enhance creative flexibility.

Texas Studios is powered by Dell PowerScale for high-speed, unstructured storage and Dell PowerEdge servers for live processing, rendering and graphics. Together, these systems manage more than 1.7 petabytes of content and support real-time feeds from dozens of cameras across more than 140 live events each year. The integrated setup enables seamless collaboration between engineering, production and creative teams, while maintaining near-continuous uptime.

Beyond game coverage, the studio provides hands-on training opportunities for more than 100 students pursuing sports media. With scalable infrastructure, Texas Athletics is preparing for future workflows including AI-driven editing and metadata automation. By modernizing its production capabilities with Dell’s technology, the university has strengthened its ability to deliver consistent, high-quality content and support evolving fan engagement and media needs.
