Garmin has announced that it will soon receive certification for a major upgrade to the Cirrus Perspective+ flight deck available for Cirrus SR20, SR22, and SR22T G3 and G5 aircraft. This upgrade will bring new safety tools, enhanced connectivity and easier navigation features. It’s expected to be available in the second half of 2025 through authorized Garmin and Cirrus service centers. Some G6 aircraft will also be eligible for selected features via a software update.

The upgrade includes new 10- or 12-inch displays with faster processors for smoother use. Pilots will also get an updated keypad with a QWERTY layout and a new autopilot controller with automatic Yaw Damper support. Key safety improvements include Runway Occupancy Awareness (ROA), which alerts pilots of potential runway conflicts, and a stabilized approach advisory that helps ensure safer landings.

Other features include updated charts, 3D airport views with Synthetic Vision, and new flight map tools. Optional add-ons include the GDL 60 datalink for easier data syncing and the GI 275 standby instrument for added backup. SurfaceWatch and Taxiway Routing can help avoid navigation errors on the ground. Overall, the update aims to improve flight safety, simplify operations, and add modern tools to existing Cirrus aircraft.
