Garmin announced software updates for select smartwatches including Venu X1, vívoactive 6, fēnix 8, Forerunner 570 and 970 as well as Edge 540, 840, 1050 and MTB cycling computers. The updates aim to help users monitor health indicators and improve their riding experience.

Smartwatch users will now see a Health Status feature that displays trends in heart rate, HRV, respiration, skin temperature and Pulse Ox during sleep. These insights, visible on the device and in the Garmin Connect app, may help users understand changes linked to stress, activity or potential illness. The feature is also accessible in beta within Garmin Connect for compatible devices.

Cycling computers receive additions such as smart fueling alerts based on fitness, weather and ride intensity. Real-time weather overlays provide radar and wind information, while power guide updates adjust targets using stamina, wind and altitude acclimation. The update also introduces gear ratio analysis and expanded GroupRide data comparisons.

Garmin Connect+ subscribers gain access to 3D topographic maps, offering detailed terrain views for routes, activities and trails. Updates are rolling out now through automatic device updates, Garmin Connect or Garmin Express.
