Hitachi has announced over $1 billion in new investments across the United States to strengthen manufacturing, energy infrastructure and automation. These projects focus on creating jobs, boosting local economies and advancing sustainable technology.
Key initiatives include a $457 million transformer facility in Virginia to support power grid resilience, a $100 million digital railcar factory in Maryland designed with AI and smart manufacturing systems, and a $72.8 million automation headquarters in Michigan. Together these projects will generate thousands of jobs and strengthen critical infrastructure for industries such as renewable energy, transportation and advanced manufacturing.
Hitachi hosted its annual Inspire Summit in Washington, D.C. bringing together industry leaders to discuss the role of AI, digital transformation and sustainable practices in shaping the future of energy, mobility and industrial systems.
