Introducing Threads Communities: Find Your People

Meta has announced Communities on Threads, creating casual public spaces for people to connect and share perspectives on shared interests like sports, TV, and music. Currently being tested across more than 100 popular topics — including NBA/WNBA, K-Pop, and TV — these communities expand on Threads’ existing features like topic tags and custom feeds, helping users find meaningful conversations with like-minded individuals.

Each community includes a custom Like emoji to reflect its identity, such as a stack of books in Book Threads, fostering a sense of belonging among members. Memberships are public and automatically appear in users’ profiles and feeds, highlighting personal interests.

Users can search, explore, and join communities directly from topic tags or through search. Meta plans to introduce badges for standout contributors and new ranking features to show the most relevant posts in both community and For You feeds.

With these updates, Threads aims to make it easier for users to connect authentically, share passions, and engage in real-time discussions around topics they love — shaping a more vibrant and personalized social experience.
