Lenovo has introduced its Certified Refurbishment Services across 14 European markets to help organizations extend the lifespan of existing Lenovo devices and improve the sustainability of their IT operations. The program offers an alternative to traditional device refresh strategies by enabling businesses to refurbish, upgrade, and redeploy devices internally, reducing e-waste and optimizing IT budgets. With increasing pressure from EU sustainability regulations and corporate ESG commitments, the service provides a practical pathway for aligning technology decisions with circular economy goals.
The solution includes multiple refurbishment levels, covering light refresh to full restoration, all performed using genuine components and supported by renewed warranties. Each device undergoes data sanitization, testing, component replacement when needed, and cosmetic restoration. By enabling internal redeployment, organizations can adjust device performance, support workforce changes, and balance new purchases with refurbished units.
Lenovo’s approach also helps organizations respond to upcoming requirements such as the EU Green Deal and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. Research cited by Lenovo highlights the environmental impact of extending device life and the growing importance of sustainability in IT decision-making. With this service, Lenovo aims to support businesses in managing costs, maintaining device performance, and adopting more circular and resource-efficient technology practices.
