Lenovo has introduced a new offering under its TruScale platform called Device as a Service (DaaS) for Sustainability. This subscription-based model helps companies reduce their environmental impact while managing IT operations more efficiently. It combines devices, services and financing into one modular solution aimed at extending device lifespan and reducing e-waste.
Backed by Lenovo’s experience in asset recovery, which includes retiring over 1 million devices, the new solution supports organizations working toward sustainability goals. It offers tools such as refurbished device options, carbon offset services and a portal for real-time carbon impact insights.
The model helps reduce emissions across the full device lifecycle and is already delivering cost benefits. Some organizations have seen up to 35% reductions in device-related IT costs. Lenovo says 57% of DaaS adopters report lower costs per seat and customers have seen a 20% drop in total ownership cost.
“Sustainable IT should drive value, not complexity,” said Rakshit Ghura, Vice President and General Manager, Digital Workplace Solutions at Lenovo. “CIOs are increasingly tasked with delivering business performance and sustainability progress in parallel. Lenovo TruScale DaaS for Sustainability meets this demand with data-driven, circular IT that helps simplify decision-making and unlock ROI from day one.”
