LG Electronics is reporting strong growth in LG Channels news viewership, driven by easier access to news content and deeper partnerships with local broadcasters. The company is rolling out a new News Portal feature, which places news directly on the home screen for select regions including the US, Mexico, Brazil, UK and Germany. This feature is part of LG’s ad-supported streaming service and is expected to expand further in 2025.

In the US, LG Channels News Hub now includes content from major networks like NBCUniversal, Disney, Bloomberg, FOX and Sinclair. These can be accessed through both the News Hub and the program guide on LG Smart TVs. Local Now also brings over 220 local news channels to users in every ZIP code.

Spanish-speaking viewers in the US now have access to 24/7 Telemundo regional news channels. These efforts have helped LG Channels achieve year-over-year double-digit growth in US news viewership. The platform was also recognized with an award for its work in supporting local broadcasting.

In Latin America, LG has partnered with Grupo Bandeirantes and CNN Brasil in Brazil, and with TV Azteca, Multimedios and Grupo Imagen in Mexico. These tie-ups have pushed up news viewing hours by over 40 percent in Brazil and nearly doubled them in Mexico.

In Europe, LG Channels continues to grow through news collaborations in countries like France, UK, Italy and Spain. More than 100 news channels are now available across the region. Spain’s RTVE channels, including Canal 24 Horas, have been added as free content. In Australia, Sky News Australia has led to a significant jump in viewer engagement.

In India, LG Channels now offers over 40 news channels in eight languages. News accounts for more than 40 percent of viewing time as of June 2025. Aaj Tak leads viewership, followed by channels like Republic Bharat, NDTV India, India TV and TV9 Bharatvarsh.
