LG Chem and ZEISS have announced a long-term partnership to co-develop and industrialize photopolymer films for advanced optical applications. The collaboration aims to strengthen global supply chain stability and accelerate next-generation automotive display technologies.
Under this agreement, LG Chem will supply photopolymer films through the ZEISS Microoptics Enabling Ecosystem, supporting integration into holographic windshield displays (HWDs). The first OEM production is targeted for 2029, marking a key step toward bringing transparent display technology to vehicles.
Both companies are combining their expertise to create a stable, high-quality photopolymer supply for emerging industries such as automotive holography, sensor systems, and consumer optics. The partnership also focuses on sustainability through responsible sourcing and energy-efficient manufacturing.
LG Chem contributes decades of experience in polymer synthesis and coating, while ZEISS brings its deep knowledge in optics and holography. Together, they plan to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support the growing demand for high-performance optical materials.
