LG Display has started mass production of a new 27-inch OLED monitor panel that is one of the brightest and fastest available today. This panel uses their latest “Primary RGB Tandem” technology, which boosts brightness up to 1,500 nits and supports a refresh rate of 280Hz. This makes visuals sharper, more colorful, and better for gaming and professional use like video editing.
They have also developed a new OLED panel with an extremely high refresh rate of 540Hz, which refreshes the screen 540 times per second. This helps deliver smoother performance, especially in fast-paced games like racing and shooting. Reaching this level without lowering image quality was difficult, but LG solved it using a special algorithm.
The panel also includes a technology called DFR, allowing refresh rates up to 720Hz in HD, depending on the content.
LG’s OLED monitors also have a very fast response time of 0.03 milliseconds, reducing blur and improving image clarity during quick movements. These features meet the top industry standards and will begin full production in the second half of this year.
“OLED monitors are rapidly expanding their market share thanks to perfect black levels and fast response times – capabilities fundamentally unattainable by LCD monitors,” said Hyeon-woo Lee, Head of the Large Display Business Unit at LG Display. “With proprietary technologies like fourth-generation OLED and DFR, which competitors cannot replicate, LG Display will enhance its competitiveness in the premium monitor market and deliver differentiated value to customers.
