LG Electronics has joined SDVerse, the automotive industry’s first B2B marketplace dedicated to software, aiming to accelerate the transition to software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Through the platform, LG introduces its AlphaWare suite, a comprehensive portfolio of solutions designed to support automakers and suppliers in managing the growing complexity of automotive software, improving reliability, and enhancing in-vehicle experiences.
Founded in 2024 by General Motors, Magna, and Wipro, SDVerse serves as a global matchmaking platform for software buyers and sellers. It shifts the industry away from captive development models toward greater transparency, collaboration, and efficiency. By listing its solutions on SDVerse, LG strengthens cooperation across the mobility ecosystem and provides automakers with streamlined access to advanced software capabilities.
LG AlphaWare encompasses five pillars PlayWare, MetaWare, VisionWare, BaseWare, and OpsWare covering areas such as immersive in-vehicle entertainment, AR/MR navigation, driver and passenger monitoring, operating system support, and secure lifecycle management. The portfolio reflects LG’s broader transformation into a Smart Life Solution Company, extending its innovation from home technology to mobility.
Joining SDVerse positions LG to help automotive companies unify vehicle operating systems, simplify software integration, and accelerate innovation, supporting the global adoption of software-defined mobility.
