LG Electronics has joined SDVerse, the automotive industry’s first B2B software marketplace, bringing its AlphaWare portfolio of mobility solutions to the platform. SDVerse, founded in 2024 by General Motors, Magna, and Wipro, aims to facilitate collaboration between software providers and automotive companies by offering a transparent and efficient marketplace for software solutions.
LG’s AlphaWare suite is structured around five pillars: PlayWare, MetaWare, VisionWare, BaseWare, and OpsWare. Together, these modules cover areas such as in-vehicle entertainment, AR/MR navigation, intelligent driver and passenger monitoring, operating system support, and lifecycle management. The portfolio is designed to assist automakers and suppliers in managing the growing complexity of automotive software and in advancing software-defined vehicle development.
By joining SDVerse, LG seeks to strengthen collaboration across the automotive value chain, enabling OEMs and suppliers to access software solutions that simplify integration and support evolving business models in the SDV era. This step reflects LG’s broader focus on mobility, extending its expertise in connected solutions from homes to vehicles, and providing tools to help the industry navigate the transition to more software-centric vehicle architectures.
