LG Energy Solution has received a CES 2026 Innovation Award in the Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility category for its integrated battery life management solution, Better.Re. This recognition marks the first time a battery company has been honored for software technology alone.
Better.Re uses advanced data analytics, machine learning, and charging control to extend the lifespan of mobility batteries and reduce maintenance costs. By analyzing user habits such as driving, charging, and parking, it provides personalized insights and behavioral guidance through an easy-to-use app. The system helps users maintain battery health longer, potentially doubling the duration an EV battery remains at 98% capacity from 1.5 to 3 years.
In controlled environments like battery swapping stations, Better.Re can proactively adjust charging to prevent degradation, extending usable battery life from 5 to 10 years for electric two-wheelers. The solution also supports emerging Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) models, integrating features like health prediction, safety diagnostics, and lifecycle management.
