LG Electronics has signed a multi-year partnership with the National Gallery in London, becoming its Modern and Contemporary Art Partner. The collaboration will support artist residencies, commissions, and conversations that bring contemporary art into dialogue with the gallery’s historic collection.
The initiative builds on LG’s global art engagement through LG OLED ART, which leverages OLED technology to create immersive digital art experiences. LG has already collaborated with Frieze for four years, showcasing leading artists across Los Angeles, London, New York, and Seoul.
National Gallery Director Sir Gabriele Finaldi highlighted that the partnership will encourage new perspectives on the collection and broaden public engagement. Meanwhile, LG also launched LG Gallery+, a new personalized curation service with over 4,000 images, offering users fine art, cinematic stills, photography, and game-inspired visuals including masterpieces from the National Gallery.
