LG Electronics shared its plan to grow its Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) business by 2030, aiming to reach KRW 20 trillion in revenue. The company will focus on expanding its B2B segment, especially in industrial and commercial markets like data centers, and offer heating and cooling solutions tailored to regional needs. As part of its 3B strategy (Build, Borrow, Buy), LG is looking at partnerships, internal development and acquisitions to support this growth.
An important area is cooling systems for AI data centers. LG is developing and testing solutions like liquid cooling and chiller-based systems. It expects data center-related sales to more than triple by 2025. A test facility in Pyeongtaek is being used to develop and assess these technologies, including a pilot with LG U+ to trial liquid cooling systems.
The company is also expanding globally, with a stronger focus on local markets. For example, in India, LG is setting up a new production line and development unit to meet regional demand. Non-hardware services, like AI-based building management systems and digital twins, are expected to grow as well. LG is also investing in training and support infrastructure across 43 countries to support its expansion.
