LG Electronics has signed an MoU with SK Enmove and Green Revolution Cooling (GRC) to develop next-generation liquid immersion cooling systems for AI data centers. The collaboration will focus on joint research, marketing, and proof-of-concept projects to deliver integrated and efficient cooling solutions.
Under the partnership, LG will handle system integration and supply cooling components like chillers and coolant distribution units. SK Enmove will provide advanced immersion cooling fluids, and GRC will offer expertise in immersion tank design and deployment. This alliance aims to address rising energy needs and sustainability requirements in AI infrastructure.
Liquid immersion cooling works by submerging servers in a non-conductive fluid to improve heat transfer, reduce energy consumption, and ensure stable GPU server performance. LG will also expand testing at its Pyeongtaek facility and develop an integrated management platform for real-time monitoring. The initiative supports the growing demand for sustainable, high-performance data center technologies.
