LG Electronics has introduced its virtual production (VP) LED technology at “Studio V,” a newly launched VP stage within StudioCube in Daejeon, South Korea. StudioCube is the country’s largest public filming facility, and the addition of Studio V marks a significant step in expanding VP infrastructure for film and content creation. The studio was inaugurated on December 3 during an event hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency, attended by representatives from national and local government bodies.
Studio V is designed for large-scale filmmaking and immersive digital environments, featuring a J-shaped LED setup measuring up to 8 meters in height and 60 meters in width. It includes adjustable ceiling panels and mobile side walls to support varied production needs. The core display uses LG’s dedicated VP LED solution with a high refresh rate and wide color coverage to support accurate on-camera performance. Lightweight modules allow for flexible installation and controlled screen curvature.
The project involved collaboration with Brompton Technology to align LED displays, processing systems and color calibration for production use. VP technology also supports reduced physical set construction and streamlined shooting workflows. LG continues working on VP-related systems, informed by operations at its own VP studio in the United States.
