Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new S-Class designed for the AI era, built on NVIDIA DRIVE AV and DRIVE Hyperion technologies. The new model features a level 4 ready architecture focused on safety, reliability and future autonomous mobility use cases.

The new S-Class runs on MB.OS and integrates NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion hardware with full stack NVIDIA DRIVE AV software. This setup supports advanced autonomous driving by combining end to end AI with a parallel classical safety stack. The system is designed to handle complex real world driving scenarios while maintaining predictable and safe behavior.

As part of NVIDIA’s partnership with Uber, the autonomous version of the S-Class is expected to be deployed for premium robotaxi and chauffeur style services on Uber’s global mobility network in the future.

The platform uses sensor diversity across cameras radar and lidar along with redundant compute systems to remove single points of failure. It follows NVIDIA Halos safety principles and is trained and validated using large scale AI training systems and high fidelity simulation.

Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA aim to bring together long standing automotive safety engineering with modern AI capabilities. The result is a premium autonomous vehicle designed to extend Mercedes-Benz’s safety leadership while enabling scalable level 4 autonomy.
