Meta is introducing new AI-powered features for Ray-Ban Meta glasses in India to make them more useful and localized. The updates include voice interaction in Hindi, UPI Lite payments, and a festive Diwali photo restyling feature. Users can now talk to Meta AI hands-free in Hindi, ask questions, take photos, answer calls, or control media using voice commands. The Hindi capability uses tools from Sarvam, an Indian foundational model company.

A notable addition is the celebrity AI voice of actor Deepika Padukone, available in Indian English, which users can select for a more personal interaction. Meta is also testing UPI QR code payments on the glasses, allowing users to make secure transactions under ₹1,000 by scanning and paying through their WhatsApp-linked bank accounts.

During Diwali, users can restyle photos with festive effects like fireworks and rangoli by saying, “Hey Meta, restyle this.” These features bring convenience and fun while reflecting Meta’s effort to adapt its AI experiences to India’s culture and daily use.
