Motorola Solutions has signed a contract with Enea Operator, one of Poland’s major energy suppliers, to deliver a TETRA land mobile radio network. The system will provide secure voice and data communication to improve grid management and ensure reliable energy services for 2.5 million people in northwestern Poland.
The network will integrate with Enea Operator’s SCADA system, allowing remote monitoring and control of grid infrastructure. Sensors installed across the network will send real-time data to the central system, enabling rapid alerts for faults or maintenance needs. This will help field staff, dispatchers and management teams coordinate more effectively during both daily operations and emergency situations.
The project includes the installation of 130 TETRA base stations, digital radios, modems and equipment for more than 1,000 technical vehicles. Built with resilience in mind, the system can run on emergency power for up to 36 hours if the main electricity supply is disrupted.
