Nokia, Datwyler IT Infra, Intel and the Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne (SIPBB) have jointly launched an innovation hub that allows startups and nonprofits to test private 5G and AI-powered edge solutions without the burden of infrastructure costs. The initiative aims to drive digital transformation across industries such as energy, mobility, healthcare and manufacturing.
The hub provides a real-world environment equipped with Nokia Digital Automation Cloud private wireless networks, MX Industrial Edge and Intel Xeon Scalable processors. These enable advanced use cases like predictive maintenance to reduce downtime, AI-based safety monitoring, energy-efficient automation and real-time communication tools. Gen AI assistants will also help workers interact with machines in natural, conversational ways.
By lowering entry barriers, the hub allows researchers and startups to trial technologies that improve efficiency, safety and sustainability. SIPBB serves as a meeting point for innovators, investors and industrial partners, supporting Switzerland’s position in digital leadership.
