Nokia and Latvijas Mobilais Telefons (LMT), Latvia’s largest mobile operator and a leading defense technology partner, have entered into a strategic agreement to co-develop a 5G-enabled tactical communications solution tailored for the Baltic defense market. The collaboration combines Nokia’s advanced 5G radio technology with LMT’s extensive experience in defense-related innovation to create a secure, high-capacity, and resilient system designed for modern military and coalition operations.
This next-generation solution will enable seamless real-time data exchange between unmanned vehicles, sensors, and military units, enhancing situational awareness, coordination, and decision-making in dynamic battlefield environments. It will also ensure secure interoperability across coalition forces, a critical requirement for strengthening regional defense capabilities.
