Nokia has deployed a new optical transport backbone network for MX Fiber to improve high-capacity connectivity in Southeast Mexico. The project introduces seven new DWDM routes covering Chiapas, Tabasco and Quintana Roo with plans to extend to Campeche and Veracruz.

The 1,800 km expansion uses Nokia’s Flex-Grid DWDM technology and 1830 Photonic Service Switch to deliver scalable 10G, 100G and 200G services with upgrade paths to 400G and 800G. This supports access to data centers, industrial parks and subsea transport hubs.

The network is designed to power major regional infrastructure projects including the Interoceanic Corridor and the Maya Train and to enhance digital access for communities, businesses and government services. Built-in dynamic management and real-time monitoring through Optical Time-Domain Reflectometry aim to ensure service reliability and support future capacity growth.
