Nokia has partnered with Zayo, a leading global communications infrastructure provider, to deploy a next-generation IP network architecture designed to enhance connectivity, scalability, and performance across Zayo’s extensive network. Powered by Nokia’s FP5-based 7750 Service Router and 7250 Interconnect Router (IXR), the upgraded infrastructure enables Zayo to deliver faster, more reliable, and secure high-speed links for services such as cloud access, data center connectivity, and enterprise networking.
The first phase of deployment is already underway in New York and New Jersey, with plans to expand to dozens of additional markets and thousands of lit buildings. This modernized, modular, and scalable architecture allows Zayo to rapidly extend its footprint—spanning over 19 million fiber miles and 1,500 on-net data centers—while ensuring low latency, reduced congestion, and high resiliency.
Through this collaboration, Zayo can offer 400G and 800G-capable services at scale, supporting the next generation of cloud and edge computing. Nokia’s technology leadership empowers Zayo to accelerate service delivery, simplify operations, and meet growing bandwidth demands—paving the way for more efficient, flexible, and future-ready connectivity solutions for enterprises and digital innovators worldwide.
