Nokia has been selected by Taoyuan International Airport Corporation (TIAC) to upgrade and expand the airport’s communications infrastructure using its IP/MPLS solution. The deployment, delivered in partnership with HwaCom Systems, will replace existing systems in Terminals 1 and 2, enabling more secure, resilient and efficient airport operations. The improved network will support TIAC’s long-term goal of strengthening its position as a key regional hub.
The new solution will consolidate voice, data, video and operational technology services—including check-in kiosks, baggage handling, Wi-Fi and CCTV—onto a unified network. This integration reduces complexity, streamlines management and helps lower operational costs. Nokia’s end-to-end network, service and security management platform will also give TIAC better visibility into network health and performance, enhancing operational efficiency.
Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan’s busiest airport with nearly 45 million passengers in 2024, is developing a third terminal planned for 2027. The upgraded network aims to support growing passenger and cargo demands while maintaining high levels of safety and reliability. Nokia’s portfolio for the project includes the 7750 Service Router, 7250 Interconnect Routers, 7210 Service Access System, and the Network Service Platform, all designed to automate and simplify airport network operations.
