NVIDIA will make a $1 billion equity investment in Nokia through a directed share issuance, giving it a 2.9% stake in the company. This move comes alongside a new strategic partnership focused on advancing AI-driven radio access networks (AI-RAN) and next-generation data center networking. The investment will be made at $6.01 per share, and Nokia will use the proceeds to accelerate development in 5G and 6G RAN software on NVIDIA’s architecture and expand its AI and cloud networking capabilities.
The collaboration will combine Nokia’s strengths in network infrastructure with NVIDIA’s leadership in AI computing. Together, they aim to shape the future of intelligent connectivity, enabling faster, more efficient, and secure data processing for the AI supercycle. Nokia will also explore integrating its optical and switching technologies into NVIDIA’s future AI infrastructure.
The new shares, to be delivered as American Depositary Shares, will be registered and listed on Nasdaq Helsinki, Euronext Paris, and the New York Stock Exchange after approval. Nokia expects the transaction to close in November, pending customary conditions.
