OPPO has partnered with UNESCO and CODEMAO to support educational equity and digital inclusion across parts of Asia and Africa. As part of this initiative OPPO has completed its commitment to donate 1,000 tablets to schools in multiple countries.
In Thailand OPPO donated 200 tablets to Lampang Kanlayanee School and Rayongwittayakom School during the Thailand AI and Digital Innovation Practice Day. The tablets are being used by teachers and students for programming education and practical learning. They come preloaded with courses from the Youth Coding Initiative which is a joint program by UNESCO and CODEMAO focused on inclusive and safe technology use.
The Thailand donation completes a pledge announced in 2024 to provide tablets to schools in Thailand Congo, Brazzaville, Kenya, Namibia and Côte d’Ivoire. In countries such as Congo, Brazzaville the tablets and coding content will support long term technology education and help build local teaching capacity. The program also includes peer learning activities and coding competitions aimed at developing technical skills among students.
In Kenya, Namibia and Côte d’Ivoire where access to hardware has limited digital learning the initiative is helping set up new digital classrooms. The goal is to improve access to technology and provide more equal learning opportunities for students.
