Panasonic Corporation has announced that its subsidiary, Panasonic Cold Chain Poland (PCCPL), will launch two new condensing unit series “iCORE” and “iCOOL” starting October 2025. These units are designed for use in retail stores, supermarkets, hospitality, gas stations, and cold rooms. A total of 70 models will be introduced across the two series.
The “iCORE” series is aimed at promoting the use of natural refrigerants in Europe. It uses R744 instead of freon-based refrigerants and includes 12 models. These are available for medium-temperature applications (up to 29 kW) and low-temperature applications (up to 15 kW).
The “iCOOL” series uses inverter control technology and supports HFC and A2L refrigerants, which have a lower global warming potential. It is meant to help with the gradual shift to more environmentally friendly refrigerants. There are 58 models in this series, with capacities of up to 42 kW for medium temperatures and up to 14 kW for low temperatures. The inverter system is designed to help reduce energy use and electricity costs over time.
PCCPL became part of Panasonic in December 2024 and serves as the company’s first cold chain manufacturing base in Europe. This has helped reduce delivery times across the region by avoiding shipments from Japan.
The launch of these two series supports Panasonic’s goal to expand its cold chain business in Europe and promote more sustainable refrigeration solutions globally.
