Panasonic Group has contributed to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan through technologies and solutions that enhance safety, comfort, and environmental performance across the venue. The company provided lighting, air conditioning, and facial authentication systems for key areas such as the Grand Ring, staff gates, and supply and treatment facilities forming the core of the venue’s cooling infrastructure. Around 1,600 full-color spotlights on the Sky Walk and 2,400 on the Ground Walk illuminated the Grand Ring, while Panasonic’s “Natural Chiller” absorption systems delivered environmentally friendly cooling using water as a refrigerant.
Panasonic also partnered with Dai Nippon Printing to implement facial authentication systems for personnel access management. Its IT/IP platform KAIROS supported major events, enabling large-scale IP-based remote productions and real-time 4K 3D spatial transmission. At the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, Panasonic technologies assessed hair and mental health through AI image analysis, while its lighting solutions enhanced the pavilion’s design. The company also supplied recycled-material toilets and other sustainable water-related equipment.
Through these initiatives, Panasonic aims to apply the knowledge gained at Expo 2025 to advance its technologies and solutions for addressing social and environmental challenges, contributing to a more sustainable and comfortable society.
