Osaka, Japan, October 3, 2025 – Panasonic Entertainment & Communication Co., Ltd. announced that its IT/IP platform KAIROS was used in the world’s first real-time 4K 3D live video transmission during the “IOWN × Perfume” performance held in April. Organized by NTT, the event combined NTT’s Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN) with the Japanese pop group Perfume to showcase future communication technology. Hibino Corporation deployed KAIROS as a core system, enabling seamless management of 3D cameras and complex production workflows in real time.
KAIROS delivered significant benefits including compact system design, low-latency SDI–IP conversion, and flexible 3D format support. This allowed precise synchronization across multiple devices, reducing setup complexity and enabling the creative team to focus on the immersive live experience. The open architecture of KAIROS also ensured compatibility with third-party applications and existing video systems.
The performance transmitted not only 3D video but also spatial effects such as floor vibrations and lighting, marking a new frontier in live entertainment. Visitors can now experience replays at the NTT Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai. Panasonic continues to develop KAIROS to support evolving video production needs across broadcast and live events.
