Panasonic has launched a new series of professional hair clippers called The Barikan. The first model, the ER-XT70 T-shaped trimmer, will be available in September in Japan and Europe. The aim is to grow Panasonic’s presence in the global barber tool market, especially among professionals.
Panasonic has been making hair clippers for over 40 years, drawing from its experience in electric shavers. Their products are known for being light, easy to handle and precise qualities that have made them popular in countries like Japan, Germany, France and Italy.
The new ER-XT70 model features a slim T-shape for better visibility and control when styling, especially for detailed areas. It includes sharp, Japanese-made 45-degree angled blades that can cut even thick hair smoothly. It also lets users switch power levels depending on the style and has an ergonomic design for comfort.
Panasonic is also trying to connect Japanese barber culture with global trends. They’ve partnered with barbers in the U.S., Europe, and Japan, and are training barbers in Ghana with help from a Japanese barber shop. The company plans to expand The Barikan series over the next three years, aiming to make it a trusted brand among barbers worldwide.
