Qualcomm Technologies and HARMAN have announced a collaboration to bring generative AI into the automotive sector with the goal of making vehicle interiors more intelligent and adaptive. The partnership combines Qualcomm’s high-performance compute platforms with HARMAN’s Ready product portfolio to enhance in-cabin systems that respond to driver and passenger needs in real time.
The solutions will support functions such as real-time visualization for driver assistance systems, emotion and preference-based interactions through AI, and personalized user interfaces. HARMAN’s products like Ready Engage with its AI avatar Luna, Ready Vision QVUE for augmented reality visualization and Ready Care for driver monitoring will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Elite platform. The initiative is designed to help automakers shorten development cycles, simplify system integration and deliver differentiated experiences.
The companies are initially focusing on Europe and China where demand for connected and AI-driven mobility is growing. They are also collaborating on central compute solutions using Snapdragon Ride Elite and Flex platforms which enable advanced driver assistance and infotainment to run simultaneously on a single chip.
