Samsung has expanded its Samsung News service with new features that provide Galaxy users real-time access to sports scores and financial market updates. Starting today, a dedicated Sports tab and stock market module powered by Yahoo Media Group—operator of Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance are available directly within Samsung News.
The Sports tab offers up-to-the-minute scores, schedules, standings, and statistics from major leagues. Users can personalize their feed by selecting favorite teams or sports. Meanwhile, the new Yahoo Finance module delivers live financial data, including updates on major U.S. indices, alongside curated economic news and expert analysis.
This integration aims to make Samsung News a one-stop destination for real-time updates across news, sports, and markets. Maya Harris, VP of Strategic Partnerships for Samsung, emphasized that Galaxy users already rely on Samsung News multiple times daily, and the addition of live sports and financial updates further enhances its value. Ryan Spoon, President of Yahoo Media Group, noted that the collaboration creates a faster, smarter way for users to stay connected to the information that matters most.
Currently available in English for users in the U.S. and Canada, the update works on all Galaxy smartphones and tablets released since 2023, with broader rollout planned.
