Samsung Electronics announced that its Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam, Bespoke Jet Bot Combo and Bespoke AI Refrigerators have received IoT security certification from TÜV Nord in Germany. This is the first time Samsung’s digital appliances have earned this recognition.
The certification is based on the ETSI EN 303 645 standard, which sets out requirements for consumer IoT device security across their lifecycle. Key areas include data encryption, authentication, secure updates, personal data protection and vulnerability management. TÜV Nord is an internationally recognized certification body accredited by the IECEE.
The achievement comes as Europe strengthens IoT security regulations through updates to the Radio Equipment Directive and the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act. Samsung’s certification indicates readiness to align with these changes and address security concerns in connected homes.
Samsung appliances use its Knox platform to protect user data with multiple layers of security. Features include firmware verification and encryption of monitoring footage and user commands. The certified products also integrate Knox Matrix, which checks for risks across devices, and Knox Vault, which safeguards sensitive information such as passwords.
The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam will debut at IFA 2025, while the other models are already available in select markets.
