Samsung has expanded its DOST Sales Programme to train 9,400 young people from underserved communities for frontline roles in India’s organised retail sector. Launched in 2021, the programme is designed to build a job-ready talent pool through a structured skilling pathway that combines classroom instruction with nationwide on-the-job training. In collaboration with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and the Telecom Sector Skills Council (TSSC), Samsung is advancing the fourth phase of the initiative, reinforcing its focus on workforce development and inclusive growth.
Participants undergo 120 hours of online learning and 60 hours of training from Samsung’s retail team, covering customer interaction, product knowledge, sales skills, store operations, and service standards. This is followed by five months of hands-on training at Samsung retail outlets, where trainees receive practical exposure and a monthly stipend. Eligible candidates earn an NSQF-aligned certification, improving their employability and enabling long-term career opportunities across India’s retail ecosystem.
The programme aims to equip youth with relevant skills for consumer electronics retail, addressing evolving workforce needs as digital adoption accelerates. Through partnerships with national skill councils, Samsung is contributing to broader skilling goals and helping create accessible pathways to employment for diverse communities across India.
