Samsung Medison has introduced the R20 ultrasound system at the RSNA 2025 meeting in Chicago. The device is designed to address growing clinical challenges such as complex scans driven by rising obesity and chronic illness, as well as increasing strain on sonographers. The R20 combines upgraded imaging hardware, new image formation technology, and a suite of AI tools that support deeper penetration and more consistent diagnostic results.
Powered by Samsung’s Advanced Imaging Engine, the system offers clearer images through enhanced beamforming and processing. It includes more than a dozen AI tools that guide exams in real time, automate measurements, improve accuracy and support workflow efficiency. Alongside imaging performance, the R20 was independently validated for meeting full ergonomic guidelines, helping reduce fatigue and enabling healthier scanning habits.
Samsung says the R20 was shaped through clinician feedback to ensure its design supports practical day to day use. The company showcased the system publicly for the first time at RSNA 2025 where attendees could test its imaging, AI features and ergonomic design.
